We struggle with the smell from the drains

We struggle with the smell from the drains in the 1st floor and 2nd floor – smells rotten water / sewer. Shower drain unit in particular. The shower in 2etg is constantly in use so there is no problems with it from drying out. The bathroom is from the late 80’s and it has been shower enclosure there ever since. Is there a connection between sewage and shower? Can it get gases from sewage and the shower drain?
Seeing that it’s recommended Top Lock – is there anything we can use for this problem – and will it last? What would be a permanent solution to the problem?
