Regular use of the basin and bath leads to the appearance of enamel surfaces scratches, chips or other damage. Slight damage to the enamel coating can be easily corrected . It is usually small scratches and chipped enamel coating. In this case, to repair the enamel surface is best suited kits – restorers enamel. These kits , just, and are designed to self-repair of damaged enamel bathtubs, sinks and other plumbing .

To eliminate the larger surface defects requires completely re- painted products ( bath tub or sink ) or to make a decision about buying a new tub and sink . One option is to buy an acrylic liner for a bath.

Enamel bathtubs and sinks resistant to household chemicals , hot and cold water. Hot- stamped on the metal, it is a protection against hostile environments and can theoretically hold eyelids. However, this does not happen because of various mechanical effects on the paint sinks and tubs.

Enameled sinks , wash basins and bathtubs are made of mild steel or cast iron. When the protective enamel layer is damaged, the metal begins to corrode . The edges of the chips are always sharp, with micro cracks , jutting out into the “healthy” enamel. If the damage is not corrected in a timely manner , the moisture penetrates them and the defective area will be expanded.

When repairing the damaged enamel , first carefully sanded  . Fillers used different types of inflicting them, usually in several layers. Enough to restore large areas of enamel coatings is well proven two-component epoxy putty . After drying putty surface of the defective area again carefully sanded , remove dust and applied by spray enamel. Very comfortable here aerosol cans . Second enamel layer is applied after drying the first layer.

Before finishing bath must be carefully prepared. First, thoroughly clean it and remove the formed over time raids . To do so would be the best common household cleaner .

Then the surface of the bath is treated with water-dampened cloth ( coarse surface better adheres to the enamel ) , from time to time washing away the sludge generated during grinding . Then on a clean and dry surface enamel is applied , guided by the instructions of the manufacturer .
