How to make a lining with plasterboard

Many times our walls are not able to be fully repaired, either the surfaces are not the most suitable for our project. For this reason, we have the option of resorting to constructed with plaster finishes. In this post we will try to provide a series of steps for correct placement of the materials.

First, we need to buy omega profiles of 24 mm and 12,5 cm thick plates. In addition, putty for filling the joints, tape to coat and anchors and screws for fixing to the wall structure and the plates to the profiles.

Once we have everything to get started, the first thing we have to do is cut the straps to the height of our wall or put with other to cover the entire height. Then we also have to check if the wall is “to lead”. If necessary, we will have to fill with material or supplements to the structure is completely vertical.

Profiles should be placed at the edges of our wall and 40 cm from each other. When everything is fixed we can begin to lay the plates. This distance is accomplished easily by placing a piece of plasterboard on the floor, in which we will support of larger size. Let us remember that the placement of each plate should be horizontal and must also generate a grasp that the structure be set even more. To fix the plates we use screws and place each 30 cm plate body profiles, and each 15 cm at the edges.

When we put all the plates, we are ready to place the putty in the joints and conclude with the capping using tape that will match the surface between plate and plate. We are already ready for sanding the joints, and proceed with a thin layer of plaster plastic that cover the wall and allow us to have a less porous, smooth surface and better reflects the light.

Finally, we must pass fixative liquid, leave to absorb for a few hours and ended up painting with the color you want. We can also wall, or add a guard or wood accents.
