Choose crowns for sockets on concrete, wood and drywall

A crown for under walls on concrete, like its analogues designed to work with wood and drywall, is a type of equipment for a drill or perforator. The nozzle allows you to cut a round hole in the wall as quickly and accurately as possible.

The choice of tool depends on the type of surface in which you want to make a noting. The stronger the material, the harder the crown drill should be.

Structure of crowns

A standard crown consists of the following elements:

Tang. Mount for inserting the rigging into the cartridge of an electric tool.

Centering drill. The main guide for creating holes.

Cutting nozzle. Cylindrical “blank” with a jaged tip.

Crown drills allow you to deepen the outer edge so that the socket does not protrude above the wall surface even by a millimeter.

Manufacturers produce cutters of two constructive types:

Collapsible. All elements can be removed and replaced with any of them.

Disposable. If something is broken or has drained, just throw it away.

By type of fastening, the shannings of the cutters are divided into: triangular, hexagonal, SDS Plus and SDS Max. Before buying, you should find out which of them your punch can work with.
