Adjust the water pressure in the boiler

All boilers need accurate checks and maintenance. Like everything, there are some things that we can control ourselves, how to check water pressure in the circuit, without calling a technician, and avoid unnecessary costs. Once in front of the boiler, open the door where you check the pressure gauge, check that the pressure is approximately 2 bar by checking the needle of the meter.

If not, just look at the bottom of the boiler pressure valve, which very often is a simple lever that opens like a faucet, or it can be a blue knob that unscrew. Always be careful not to touch the Red lever, which serves to drain the water from the system. Once sure that the exact lever, open it slightly and feel the water pressure that drives up the pressure.

Bring the needle up to the pressure of two bars at this point you’re done, just close the lever again and the door of the boiler. If the pressure falls again in this case you need to call a technician because most likely there is a problem to the system. Periodically check the pressure.

To organize the uninterrupted heating and water supply of a private house, many citizens use gas boilers with a closed circuit on which the heat carrier moves. However, in the process of their operation, consumers often face such a problem when the pressure in the boiler falls. To fix it, it’s important to understand how you work and what you can do.

How boiler pressure is controlled

To measure the pressure in the heating boiler are used measuring devices – gauges. Thus, the boiler “Buderus” is equipped with several measuring parts that show the exact pressure of the coolant.

Adjust the water pressure in the boiler

When the heat pressure levels are reduced, the heating unit ceases to function because the water does not enter the tank. If the gas pressure is reduced, the system automatically shuts down. To prevent such troubles, it is necessary to maintain the boiler in a timely manner, and to take measures when it is turned off.

The pressure drops when hot water is turned on

If the pressure in the heating system drops when hot water is turned on, this can be explained by the air sucker in the heating circuit or failures in the functionality of the 3-go valve. Such a problem is connected with the special structure of boilers.

Figuring out what to do if the wall boiler when opening the tap with hot water begins to relieve pressure, it is important to understand the specifics of its work. To safely eliminate defects, you should seek the help of a specialist.

Formation of air traffic jams

If cracks appear in any place of the system and depressurization occurs, it leads to a leak of the heat carrier and the absorption of air inside the circuit. As a result, air bubbles are formed. They are also facilitated by incorrect filling of the circuit, which leads to sudden spikes in pressure. To fix the problem, it is enough to carry out the procedure of airing the installation by installing the triggers.

Expansion tank defects

The causes of the pressure drop in the gas boiler include problems with the expansion tank. There may have been a rupture in the structure or a depressurization of the nipple, which caused it to pass air.

On the inside of the tank there are two compartments with a membrane partition. One part contains air masses, and in the second – a heat carrier. As the liquid consistency warms up, it expands and increases in volume, starting with a large force to affect the membrane. Under this influence, the membrane leads to the compression of the gas mixture.

To prevent numerous problems in the heating system, including reducing pressure, it is important to perform comprehensive prevention and follow a number of rules of use. It is worth keeping an eye on the correct connection of the pipeline and heating elements, as many errors are made during the installation phase.

To avoid the formation of air traffic jams in the heating circuit, it is important to properly fix the working nodes, make sure that the valves and connections are healthy, and make a diagnosis. The pressure is fed with a compressor 1/4 more than the standard value. If the indicators do not fall after 30 minutes, it will indicate that the bug has been fixed and you can start operating the boiler in the same mode. If there are sudden spikes in pressure, you will need to re-check the system for leaks.
